Shop in another database?

    Hi,
    i want to add a #woocommerce shop to my already existing wordpress website.

    I would like to run the shop in a separate database then the “main website”.
    Is that possible?
    If yes…how can it be done?

    Could a Multi-Site-Installation do the trick?

    Hey,

    In theory this should be possible, but I would not recommend it. The fact is that woocommerce is an extension to wordpress, and therefore uses a lot of the same functionalities. You cannot see woocommerce as something ‘separate’

    A multisite install would still have the WooCommerce site using the same database – multisites share the same database and WordPress files – the only real difference is each site has it’s own set of database tables.
