• Hi
Why doesn’t the header added to all the pages I create??? I have looked for hours for the right theme and that I found it the header image doesn’t show up on other created pages.
I am using wampserver right now, because I am learning WP and since I usually have busy days, I figured this would be better, the header shows up on main page but not the rest???

Different templates do different things, and the remainder of your pages are not using a template that shows the header. You can edit each page to choose any of the many templates available for showing or not showing the header, footer and widget areas.

    Hi
But, I do NOT want to change themes, it took me this long to find one I really liked. And, why doesn’t this theme have a header that is static to all pages and not just one???
I am new to WP so I am not sure how to edit it’s pages, I am used to working in reg php and html…. and it seems I better at that and it’s so much faster, than to have to fight with headers LOL πŸ™‚

Shipyard8c is a theme that contains many templates for displaying pages, and your main page is using the theme’s default template that includes the header. To have the header show on any other page, you can go to “Pages” at your WordPress Dashboard and then “Edit” the page to select the theme’s template for displaying that page.

I am no longer active with self-hosted WordPress, so I no longer have the theme running at a site where you could see the many varieties. Shipyard8c has more page templates than any other theme you might ever find anywhere, so you have a wide variety of options there without changing themes.

First, all of this is assuming you have the “Shipyard” theme downloaded and installed as the Parent Theme for the “Shipyard8c” Child Theme that is activated as you site’s active theme. With those things in place in that way, each individual page can then have any “Shipyard8c” page template selected for that specific page, and your main page will not be changed unless you specifically select a non-default template for your home page.

WordPress is a hands-on, ground-level experience that is almost infinitely customizable, so do not give up too early!

    Hi
If, I can get the header to show up on all the pages I’d be a very happy camper LOL but no matter which one I try that is listed…. and save, and review the header only shows up on the main home page???
I am lost as a goose egg LOL πŸ™‚

After I was no longer using self-hosted WordPress, the author of Shipyard did some updating of the Shipyard parent theme as well as some updating of Shipyard8c. I do not know why he would have changed any Shipyard8c templates, but maybe something happened there. I will download a copy of Shipyard8c and try to see whatever I might be able to see that might be causing your dilemma. However, I am no longer actively doing anything with either theme and could only possibly try to help a bit if you might want to make or edit your own page templates.

I just took a quick look at Shipyard8c and I believe all templates are in place as I had made them. Overall, I believe this link shows what you should have:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/making-sense-of-categories-and-versions-of-so-many-templates/

If you are using a template that includes “Home” in its description, you Home header image should appear. If it does not, then someone will likely have to figure out why your image is not being found by the template that is calling for it.

I am not an in-depth coder of any kind, so my best guess would be that possibly something in the theme’s code might no longer be consistent with the current version of WordPress. However, maybe this is something as simple as the latest WordPress using some other method of locating and using a Home-Page image.

    Hi
I am using the latest updated version of WP it updated…. I was going to bring one of my sites back to life but this is frustrating lol trying to get a header to show up on all pages and not just 1 LOL πŸ™

Yes, you are using the latest updates, but that does not mean the theme does not need an update in order to work properly with the latest WordPress.

Have you tried using the default template for other pages where you want your header image displayed?
