Shipping Very Heavy Items

    Hello. On my store’s website I am selling two different complete encyclopedia sets. Because each set contain many large books, the total weight is very heavy (over 70 pounds). How can I set that up with your plugin (Media Mail doesn’t work)? I have had a few customers wanting to buy the sets but they are denied the purchase because of the weight of the item. Thank you for your assistance.

    Hello, the USPS Ground Advantage service is suitable for heavy packages. You can enable it in the plugin settings.

    Someone again tried to purchase my set of encylopedias but was not able to because of the weight. The error log says:

    Domestic packages may not weigh more than 70 pounds.

    It is ok to ship multiple items weighing more than 70 lbs in total. But every single mailpiece must not exceed 70 lbs.

    Why is that a rule? I’ve shipped an item before from USPS weighing over 70 pounds… How does a customer purchase an item weighing 70 pounds then if there is no shipping method?

    It is a USPS limitation. There is nothing we can do about it on our side.
