You can do this with shipping zones and postal codes. If you are eager to make it that way. Tutorial.
Or there are plugins on CodeCanyon or search for Table Rate Shipping plugins.
This is a free version on WordPress.org: Table Rate Shipping.
Hi darryl955,
It depends on how you want to charge shipping. If you want true distance rate shipping, WooThemes does have a plugin for it: https://www.woothemes.com/products/woocommerce-distance-rate-shipping/, along with the one mentioned above.
If you are looking to set up “flat rate” type costs based on different states, countries, or zip codes – then table rate is what you’re looking for. But, shipping zones are coming to WooCommerce core soon (less than a month away): https://woocommerce.wordpress.com/2016/02/10/shipping-zones-to-ship-with-2-6/. So with the 2.6 update, you’ll be able to set up shipping destination costs by default in WooCommerce 🙂
Hi Caleb. I actually wanted to implement the exact thing as mentioned in that plugin which you told. However is there any way of doing it without having to shell out the cash to buy it?
Hey darryl955,
Yea, but you’ll need to shell out code instead 😉
I’d recommend using this API: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/distance-matrix/. If you can’t code though, then you will need to hire a developer. In which case, buying the plugin is the cheaper option.
Thanks for the information.:)
