Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » Shipping Not Functioning. “There are no shipping methods available”

I’ve been brought in help out a friend and to take on a site where the previous admin left a month ago.
‘Shipping’ was functioning at least a month ago. (United States)
Currently it returns the error: “There are no shipping methods available”
    – I’ve updated everything.
    – Tried several of the suggestions found here to no avail.
    – Tried several different states and zipcodes. nogo.
    – Nothing has been added to the site -that I know of since early December and site was functioning mid-December.
    – Went through the logs, nothing sticks out. (of course I’m new to WC)

I don’t understand how a functioning site can from good to bad in one month.
    Seems rather tenuous and fragile.
Previous admin had installed a ton of plugins. (~29)
EDIT: Discovered the Status area. (8) Plugins are being reported as “Not tested with the active version of WooCommerce”
I have NOT started to remove any yet because of the fact the site was functioning a month ago.

    Thanks, _Dan

    Which shipping are you using?

Usually, there’s a debug option that you can check in the settings of the shipping plugin.

This kind of problem can also be caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine if the issue is being caused by a theme and/or plugin is to temporarily switch your theme to Storefront and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you while you’re logged in to that session without affecting normal visitors to your site. Note that Health Check may not count Storefront as a default theme, so you can also use Twenty Seventeen as well.

If that resolves the issue, then slowly re-enable features until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

Thank you Eri. I’ll go grab Storefront and install health check and perhaps 217 as well.
I’m a total Newbie to WP and WC for eCommerce and need all the help and direction I can get.
EDIT: Not sure about the ‘shipping method’ I have to guess that it’s just what comes with WC? I don’t see a specific plugin.

    Hi @sbikesysop,

Not sure about the ‘shipping method’ I have to guess that it’s just what comes with WC?

Which service do you want to use to ship your product? Is it USPS? UPS?
There are lots of carriers out there, for example: https://woocommerce.com/product-category/woocommerce-extensions/shipping-methods/shipping-carriers/

Hi Eri, thanks for taking the time on this.
On one of the last ‘good’ ‘New Customer Orders’ from Dec. 10th it showed
Shipping as $6.56 via Priority Mail.

Only plugin that I can see that could even be related is the “Stamps.com WooCommerce Extension (USPS)” v.1.9.9
Which under Status is showing as “Not tested with the active version of WooCommerce”
So I guess that might be the problem.

I’ve got a call into the owner, need to find out why they didn’t go with a USPS, UPS, or FedEX plugin instead.

I’m not familiar with the extension referenced, but If you only need USPS and label printing, you could check WooCommerce Services: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-services/

You can see everything that it supports on https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-services-faq/#section-19

    Thanks Eri!
Just found the problem this morning over a second cup of coffee.
(‘new site admin overlooking the obvious’ error)
Buried deep under a ‘General’ tab at the bottom was the auth settings for Stamps.com.
The owner changed his password @stamps.com back during the holidays.
He kept mentioning that he doesn’t use stamps.com for anything so I wasn’t paying proper attention to it until the last few days.
Re-entered the credentials and it is back to functioning.
After we get done getting the site back to functionality I’m going to look into WooCommerce Services.
Thanks again for the assistance, ’tis appreciated.
