Shipping in Multiple Currencies

    Does anybody know how to cater for multiple currencies in shipping.

    Im using two premium plugins – Simple Shipping from EDD and Aiela Currency Switcher.

    Both work very well but except i cant seem to convert the shipping price. Im using ZAR and USD as my currencies…USD is my default, so when i checkout the value of the shipping stays at USD even though label is ZAR.

    I basically need to allow it to automatically convert or have shipping based on location – then allowing the system to give an option based on location which in turn gives the right shipping currency and price.

    I have emailed both authors but no help.

    Hey there,

    Sorry to hear that your shipping fees are not being converted by the Aelia Currency Convertor. (I believe we may have spoken about this already via email).

    Fees (like shipping) and discounts are a standard Easy Digital Downloads core function that extensions (like shipping) can tap into and use with Easy Digital Downloads.

    If a developer (like Aelia) wishes to make a 3rd party plugin for EDD which converts the currency, for it to be a complete solution, they would have to make sure they they convert fees and discounts as well as just products. Otherwise it isn’t really a working extension.

    The Aelia Currency Converter isn’t actually a plugin that was created by Easy Digitial Downloads so it is a 3rd party plugin. If they wish for their product to be a complete working extension for Easy Digital Downloads, they will need to build support for discounts and fees into their extension.

    Alternatively, we have a currency conversion plugin as well which will convert the currency for fees and discounts. It works a little bit differently than Aelia but it works well in its own way.

    You were speaking to my partner. Would you perhaps have a working example of your currency converter…so we can see how it works before we spend more money on it?

    ps. is there a currecny widget too which allows people to change currencies?
