Is it possible to add a simple dropdown menu where it says ‘TBC’ next to shipping with some values in? for e.g
Which then adds the amount to the total?
SCABN is designed not to ask an shipping questions as they depend on the destination and we don’t ask that, Paypal / Google Wallet does. It is easy to add a note saying ‘Shipping is free in the UK and X to the EU, and Y elsewhere’, but a pulldown menu is tricky because what does the menu do? If someone selects UK (Free) and then places the order with Paypal to ship to the US, what do you do?
Open to ideas, but I think it is best to leave the shipping costs to where the address is entered.
Yes I agree it is quite tricky, although this is something our client has asked for and has said if they don’t select the correct shipping from the drop down they simply wont send the product out or contact the seller letting them know of this.
I mean I would say its their responsibility to select the correct shipping the same as its their responsibility to select the correct products that they are buying. So long as it’s styled clearly enough then I think that should be ok.
If its possible to have this integrated please let us know what variables/code we need to achieve this.
Thank you in advance.
This is interesting, we are after a similar function for adding gift wrapping at checkout (as an optional) add on. Is it possible to have a drop down which recalculates the total at checkout?
As I’ve never done any AJAX, I don’t really know how hard that would be, but if someone wants to give it a try, I’m happy to help.
