Support » Plugin: Giftable for WooCommerce » Shipping cost added on virtual product

  • Hello,
I selected a virtual product (A), which enable a gift (B), also virtual.
If I create an order with A alone, there is no shipping cost.
If I create an order with B alone, there is no shipping cost.
If I create an order with A and B, there is no shipping cost.

    The bug is here :
If I create an order with A, and add B as free gift, it adds shipping cost.

Is it a bug, or how can I avoid this ?
A is a subscription, I don’t know if this is relevant to the issue.
    Thanks

hi @contremaitre did you try to put price for your gift zero (0)?
    – subscription isnt default WooCommerce thing, thats another plugin.
    – If I put only Magazine N°27 (Numérique) into cart there is no shipping, so could be something with Virtual + Gift mix.

    You can try:
    1. Conditional Shipping plugin
    or to
    2. Exclude your product from shipping with code

    Hi
I tried with another virtual product (not subscription) and it’s the same issue. So this is happening with virtual + gift mix. Maybe this is something your plugin could handle in a next version ?

The conditional shipping plugin is not free, and the exclude product code for shipping does not work for free gift.
I tried to put the price of the gift to 0 and it the issue remains.

    Thanks

@contremaitre thanks for reporting back – will try to investigate more about that mix Virtual+Gift.
    – about custom function (You did replace ID with your Product/Gift ID right ?)

I did replace with the ID of the product which can be added as free gift. It works when I add it myself to the cart, but when I add it as a free gift it does not trigger free shipping

Great, then it could be something about Giftable – will try to investigate this week whats going on

I have exactly the same problem, it is definitely to do with the Giftable option, take that away and it all works as it should.

@contremaitre @andrewjohnjacques there are various shipping plugins, and some of them have exclude options where you can exclude products from shipping.

    – We will investigate this with normal (default) shipping options, and will see what to do, to include changes to Giftable or to share Code snipped to exclude items

    *we dont have ETA
