    Can I create a custom order status called “Shipped” to be set automatically whenever I add a tracking number to an order?

    And at the same trigger a custom email to the customer with the tracking number?

    Yes, you can create a custom Shipped Status and in AST settings, add the tracking info to the custom order status email.

    Ok great.

    Because I have an online store with physical products.

    So I need to keep the default woocommerce status’ (on hold, processing and completed) and add a custom one (shipped) for when the products are shipped to the customer and i’ve added a tracking number.

    So I can automate this process? When a tracking number is added, an email is automatically sent?

    AST does not change the core WooCommerce statuses, it just allow you to rename the completed order status Label to Shipped for your convenience.

    In the Settings you can choose to which order status email to add the tracking information.

    So if you sell physical products only, you do not need to create a custom shipped status, just do the rename.

    Ok, maybe I didn’t explain myself correctly.

    I don’t to rename any of the existing woocommerce status.

    I want to keep using the Completed status for when the order gets delivered, not shipped. I just need to add an extra custom status called Shipped.

    So can I do that? And automate the process in a way that when a tracking number is added, an email is automatically sent to the customer?

    Hi, ok, so keep the Completed and rename it to Shipped if it fits your workflow, and use the Delivered Custom order status that we let you enable in the plugin settings.

    It’s possible to automate the process in a way that:

    Tracking number is manually added > Status changes to Shipped > custom email is sent to customer with tracking info

    ?

    It was not not an answer, it was a Question.

    When you add tracking into the order manually, you can mark it as shipped on the same time and the email is triggered. We also provide API for external services and CSV upload option.

    when users ask for automation, it means that they ship their orders using external service and want the tracking to be added and the order will be marked as shipped automatically once they create a shipping label, This automation depends which service or plugin you’re use to generate shipping labels.

    Another Automation you may want, is the TrackShip. a post-shipping automation tracking API that auto-tracks your orders until they are delivered to the customers.
