[Resolved] Shift start of blog down

  • How do I shift the start of my blog (basically the header/menu) down by a certain amount, mainly in order to show the background image. An example of what I am looking to do can be seen here:

    By editing your theme’s CSS.

    I figured it would require some CSS editing, I’m new to coding so I was hoping someone could help me out with the code?

    I’d suggest using Firefox and the Firebug add-on.

    Ok I’ve tried analysing the page with Firebug, I’ve removed certain elements to see if they have an effect but it has all been to no avail. Can anyone provide any more help please?

    either try to add some top padding to the style of body:
    body { padding-top:500px; }
    or to restrict it to the front page:
    body.home { padding-top:500px; }

    or a top margin to the style of #page-wrap:
    #page-wrap{ margin-top:500px; }
    or to restrict it to the front page:
    .home #page-wrap{ margin-top:500px; }

    Thank you very much, that helped fix my issue.
