First of all, LOVE this plugin! Very easy to use, and exactly what I was looking for.

The problem I’m having is with Facebook sharing – it doesn’t pull the score for the Facebook post, although I see in your javascript code it’s supposed to. Also, it opens the Facebook share in a new tab instead of in a small popup window – is there something in the javascript I can change to make it do that? I know you can do something with onClick, but don’t want to mess with anything unless I know exactly what to change.

    Thanks for your great work!

    Hi meburke,
Facebook cannot share dynamic content without using a “facebook app”.

Basically, whenever you share ANY website on Facebook, Facebook will crawl that page and use the meta description and featured image to generate its post. This is why HD Quiz requires an APP ID in order to post dynamic content – your quiz score.

On the main HD Quiz -> About / Options page you will see a field for Facebook APP ID. This is where you will need to enter your ID.

I used to have a tutorial on how to create this ID, but Facebook changes their layout and flow so often that it became too much of a pain to maintain.

You’ll have to go to https://developers.facebook.com/ and then select My Apps located on the top right -> Create App. From there, just follow their guide. If given the option of app “type” choose the one that closest resembles “web” or “javascript”.

Thanks for the quick reply! I’m going through the process now of getting the FB app ID and getting my business verified by FB, so I’m assuming once that’s done it’ll work fine.

Still wondering about the popup window, though – is that an easy change in the javascript file?
