There have been many reports of issues with version 5.0.9 of our plugin. We’re still unable to replicate them locally, but we have a potential fix based on the error message users are seeing. FYI, I think the real advantage of your plugin is really in the side bar coexisting with the top/bottom sharing buttons in the same site where we can assign which go to what content. If this no longer is working, you lost your real edge.

We will be releasing 5.0.10 after we’ve confirmed it fixes the reported issues with functions being called on a non-object. I’m not sure when that’ll be. As we’re still unable to reproduce that particular issue, we’re waiting to hear back from a couple users on whether our fix resolved their issue.

We’ve made some educated guesses about what caused this issue and have released 5.0.10 moments ago.
One of the bugs we’ve seen in 5.0.9 is that some of the AddThis settings checkboxes get unchecked from time to time, and some other settings are cleared as well. After updating to the 5.0.10 version of the plugin, please review your AddThis plugin’s settings and confirm that they are as you intended them to be.
We are continuing to monitor the situation. Please let us know here or at help@addthis.com whether you’re still experiencing this issue after installing 5.0.10 and checking your settings.
We updated the new version, but the problem still persists. We also notice that now Addthis buttons are taking much longer to load. This is not going to help our popularity, nor yours.

I think we finally resolved the issue with settings being reset in 5.0.12.
The 5.0.12 version will recover your settings from right before you upgraded to any of those three problematic version, and restore them. That means that if you intentionally changed your setting in one of those three version, those changes will be reverted. As before, please upgrade to the newest version of the plugin, review your settings for this plugin, and confirm that they are as you intended them to be.
