• I have a wordpress site (http://gkrkarateherts.co.uk/news/) which has a few articles for my karate club. I encourage students to share links to these articles on facebook, etc. I have just published a new article on a disabled student.

When I tried to share this on facebook the image and description part doesn’t work. Is this something to do with my site or is this a facebook issue. I have spent all morning on facebook help pages to no avail.

If someone is able to help I would be very grateful. The article link is http://gkrkarateherts.co.uk/news/cerebal-palsy-and-karate/

Thanks for any help you can give.
    Matt

  • I’m not super WP savvy but I guess this is entirely handled by the social media plugin that you are using. Which one is it?

    Looks fine to me.

    General notes:

    (1) You should be aware that any time you make changes that are intended to affect the appearance of your shared links, Facebook will not instantly reflect the changes. It caches data from pages and updates these only periodically. If you have made major changes and wish them to be reflected immediately, you can force cache updates through the URL linter.

    (2) If you wish to have more control over what appears on Facebook when a link is shared, you can use OpenGraph metadata. SEO plugins like this one automatically generate meta elements of this type. Alternatively, you can generate these yourself if you have sufficient grasp of the WordPress template system.
