# Sharing doesn’t work

 * Sharing a post doesn’t work for me.
 * For a month a error message was shown. Since your last update. No message is
   shown. But I am still not able to share a post. The website has a Smart license
   and most of the allowed posts are unused (90%+). So that’s not a problem. The
   admin re-connected the social media accounts at least once. Didn’t work out.
   The screen doesn’t load after I click on sharing / posting.

 * Hello,
 * Thank you for reaching out.
 * Could you please let us know which error message you were seeing previously?

   It would also be very helpful if you could attach screenshots or a screen recording
   of the exact steps you are taking so that we can look into this for you.
 * Looking forward to hearing from you.

 * It said something like: To execute this function, you need a specific role. Please
   contact admin.
 * I haven’t done any screenshots.
 * It seems like an update reset all roles except admin’s. Now it is working again.
   After getting a new role and re-connect all social media accounts.

 * Thank you for your feedback. It appears you encountered the following error:
   “
   _To execute this function, you need editor permissions or a higher role. Please
   contact your administrator for access._”
 * To resolve this, please ensure your WordPress role is set to **Editor** or higher.
   Once updated, everything should function as expected.
 * Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions.

 * [@leonard2015](https://wordpress.org/support/users/leonard2015/) – We already
   did. But it is unusual that it happens after an update from a plugin. Would be
   great if you let the users know. Couldn’t use the plugin for weeks because of
   that. In fact, it shouldn’t happen at all imho.

 * It seems there might be a slight misunderstanding. Neither Blog2Social nor our
   updates have any impact on the WordPress user roles of your website. It might
   be best to reach out to your web administrator to find out what caused this change
   to your user.

 * [@leonard2015](https://wordpress.org/support/users/leonard2015/) – There was
   an update for Blog2social and then the error message “To execute this function,
   you need a specific role. Please contact admin.” came along. There was no other
   changes nor updates on that day.
 * The admin assumes the same by the way. He didn’t change anything. The only change
   was the update in the end of March or start of April or something like that.
   Then there was another update a few days ago. The error message disappeared,
   couldn’t change a thing though.
 * I still think is a valid assumption. It may not be your intention, but it happened.
   The site I am editor for, didn’t change anything. There were no other updates.

 * Thank you very much for your feedback.
 * You are absolutely right, this error message was recently added. This change
   was made to comply with specific WordPress requirements that we were obligated
   to implement.
   Please rest assured that Blog2Social does not modify your user
   roles. The error message is designed to inform you of the specific reason for
   the notification and how it can be resolved within your WordPress settings.
 * However, we appreciate your input and have forwarded your feedback to our development
   team. Our goal is to make this even clearer to ensure there is no further misunderstanding
   while posting.
 * Please let us know if you have any other questions regarding Blog2Social. We
   are happy to help.
