  • This isn’t really a support thread, more a heads up. One of our clients just got this email this morning

We hope you have been enjoying your SharedCount subscription. Over a year-long effort, we have now completely re-engineered our infrastructure to be able to continue to support the high volume of requests coming through to scale as needed.

We have also rolled out failover protection to get to 100% uptime as close as possible. The new pricing will allow us to support our customers better, giving them a better experience and will enable us to sustain our platform.

We had to take a real hard look at our options, and it’s not a decision that we made lightly. The costs of operations and the way we are able to provide this data have significantly gone up. We are currently pushing all the power we can behind the scenes here to ensure this data can last as long as we can.

For you to continue receiving the service and its benefits, we will be rolling out new prices as of September 15th, 2019.

Your plan will be at $512/mo (200k API Calls/day).

We thank you for being a loyal customer for so long. As a token of appreciation, your price will be at $400/mo (200k API Calls/day), which will save you 22% off the regular price. Overages will be at $1 per 10,000 queries.

PS. Our current plans are listed below. You may downgrade if you choose to – click here to downgrade.

From $40/m to $512/m. You’d think this was some patented life saving drug.

This client only uses 40k/day (we cache heavily to keep it down). So, they now have a $160/m plan, but that’s still a 4x price increase. Also odd that theye don’t list a $512/m plan, just $620/m for 250k.

Trying to figure out if I can tweak caching to the point they only use 10k/day without loosing resolution on recent posts.
