Shared list as part of a post?
As part of a party invitation site, I’d like to let users add to a list of desserts that they’ll bring. (So, John visits my site, sees a list of a dozen desserts, decides to add a cheesecake to the bunch, enters his name and dessert, hits send and the site updates immediately with his new entry.)
I tried doing it with comments, first, but it’s way more of a hassle than I thought it would be (creating different comments-templates for different categories, altering the html the comments-list will generate, …). I’ve tried to tackle it this way for a couple of hours now, but seem to be creating more problems than I’m actually solving.
I’ve been looking around for solutions but couldn’t really find any. Since I’m creating a one-page template from scratch and want to use posts/categories for the layout exclusively, I don’t want to hard-code stuff into the template and don’t want to use pages. I thought it might be possible to send a form to the custom fields of a specific post somehow, but if it is, I don’t see how. 🙂 I don’t even mind using crazy workarounds, like using IFTTT or somehow sending the stuff to a Google Spreadsheet or something.
If you know of a way to do something like this, that would be much appreciated!
