Share This 1.4 icon problem: no icons – really no one – appears

  • In my blog, Share This (1.4) does work properlly, but no icons are displayed within my theme. Neither the close button appears. In the reademe.txt it is said that problems with themes could occur, and then we should change things into our style.css.

    Ok, but what changes? Any information could help a lot, could not it? I ask for any directions…..

    Oh, I was almost forgetting: they do not appear at the js window, but they are fine in the new page mode. I am using WP 2.1……

  • Not sure why you’ve posted this a couple of times here in the forums.

    Do you have a link to your blog so we can see this and understand what is occuring?

    I’ll jump in on this one. Just installed Share This 1.4 on my blog this evening (WordPress 2.1.3). Tested it out and it’s working perfectly with the exception of the Share It icon graphic. Not showing up at all.

    Anyone want to take a look and let me know what you think is causing this to happen?

    I’m still having problems getting the Share It icon to show up to the left of the link. I can see that it’s leaving a space for it. I’ve tried changing the definition from true to false and can see the link shifting to the left. This shows me that the icon is there, but not showing up.

    I’m versed enough with CSS to make me very dangerous, but I don’t quite understand this code:

    .akst_share_link {
    background: 1px 0 url(share-icon.gif)no-repeat;
    padding: 1px 0 3px 22px;
    }

    I’ve verified that the icon is named properly and is reflected in this code. I’m wondering if the 16x16px icon is being hidden somehow by the padding or background terms. Any ideas?

    I’ve been continuing to test this issue and have discovered that it’s something to do with my template. I tried 4 other templates and the icon shows up properly, so it’s something in my template that’s causing the icon to be hidden. I have no idea where to even start…

    How about this then…is there any way to completely eliminate the social contact tab? The email tab is really all I’m looking for and it works beautifully. I know you have to edit the PHP page, but I’m not sure what I need to eliminate to get rid of the whole social contact tab and it’s contents and keep the plug-in functioning correctly.

    Thanks!

    This is the same problem I’m having… NO icon. Anyone solved this yet?

    For Email only, you can use my version :
    http://wordpress.pastebin.ca/637784

    change parameter :
    @define(‘AKST_SHOW_ONLY_EMAIL’, false); to true

    Have fun
    Chris
