• Hey,

Noticed while testing 4.1-beta1 (and just tested 4.1-RC1) that my screen is shaking like crazy when I scroll down, when my screen is already at the bottom – so ‘overscrolling’ the screen actually.

I’ve tried to record it with a screen recorder, but the shaking is actually so fast that the screen recorder doesn’t pick it up that good. http://cl.ly/2p3k1Q3y303D From 7 seconds you actually see that its doing some weird stuff, but in reality its actually 10x faster than that (no exaggerating).

It seems to happen on certain (admin) pages; so far; Appearance, settings, plugin and most of their sub-pages. E.g. media settings page not, all other do.

Movement I make is relatively slow continues scrolling down on a MacBook trackpad (OSX10.9)

Will try to make a video with my phone later if needed, hopefully it will be better visible on there.

Thanks for the report, and thanks for the video. This looks like it might be an issue with the behaviour of the admin menu.

Which browser are you using please?

Can you try deactivating all your plugins and enabling the default theme and see if the issue persists?

    Thanks!

    I’m in Chrome 39.0

I had these plugins activated; WooCommerce, WordPress Beta tester and WordPress importer.
After deactivating all plugins its gone on the plugins page (when activating WC its back), but the settings and appearance page stays shaking with or without plugins activated.

Theme is TwentyTwelve, just tested Fifteen and the same there.

For the record this isn’t present on Windows, I’m thinking it might be OS related, doesn’t OS-X now do the “scroll past the boundaries” like iOS, which would cause the flickering when the browser keeps trying to pull it back, I’m thinking our top: 0; bottom: 0; positioning might be quirking up due to it?

    Exactly the scroll past boundaries..

Here’s a video of the class thats changing… (again a bad representation of how fast and annoying the shake/flickering is)

I’ve pushed this on to a ticket so we can keep track of the status of it on https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/30692

Iv’e also marked this topic as ‘reolved’, this is just to keep it easier to manage incoming reports of troubles so other moderators know there exists a Trac ticket for it now and it’ll be followed up there.
