# Shady-looking external resource

 * I’m not a developer, but this place seemed like the most appropriate place to
   ask this question. I’m using the Clean Home template by Mid Mo Design for my 
   linearhammer.com blog. Using ScriptNo in Google Chrome, the following external
   resource shows up:
 * doug1izaerwt3.cloudfront.net
 * Does anybody have any idea what this is all about? Is this something I ought 
   to ask Mid Mo about?

 * Are you sure it’s coming from the _Theme_?
 * To test: switch (temporarily) to the Twenty Eleven Theme, and see if the external
   resource is still called.

    I did what you said. It’s still called. I still have no idea what it is
   or how I would go about getting rid of it, if I should.

 * Well, that tells you that the external resource is _not_ called by the Theme.
 * What Plugins do you have active?
 * (Note: I suspect that this resource is _not_ malicious; it sounds looks to me
   like a CDN reference.)

 * I get the thing about the resource call not being an issue with the theme.
    As
   for plugins, I’m not using anything special. I’ve got Links, Archives, Image,
   and Follow Blog widgets in my sidebar. Sorry if that’s not what you’re talking
   about. My blog is a pretty simple affair.
 * Honestly the only reason I got paranoid about it was that cloudfront.net 404s,
   and the whole link just looks ridiculous. Cloudfront.com redirects to [http://aws.amazon.com/cloudfront/](http://aws.amazon.com/cloudfront/),
   which confirms your suspicion. Thanks for your patience.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
