# SFTP support

 * All my FTP servers work with SFTP, but unfortunately Backup Scheduler doesn’t
   seem to support this. This way I can’t backup my site remotely.
 * As SFTP seems quite common, is there something on the roadmap to support this
   protocol?
 * It would very much increase the usefulness of Backup Scheduler for me, which 
   already is a great tool.

 * SFTP may be quite common but its implementation is deactivated by default on 
   php installation ([http://fr.php.net/manual/en/wrappers.ssh2.php](http://fr.php.net/manual/en/wrappers.ssh2.php)).
 * Thus, there is 0,0001% chance that an installation have this support.
 * I believe that it would be hard to code from scratch …

 * You could probably use phpseclib, as the SSH SFTP Updater Support plugin does..
