Shareaholic sexybookmarks eaten 5/100 of my pingdom Load Time
-
Hi @kletskater could you please provide some more details so we can analyze and improve where possible? thanks so much!
I have some screenshots for you to see, think it will be clear then
Our email is support@shareaholic.com
you’ve got mail
thanks already for responding– Could you please try with just sexybookmarks icons? (without the FB Like buttons, G+ button, etc) It looks like calls to Facebook.com, Google, etc is adding load.
– a lot of those calls should just get hit once per user once every 45 days. Pingdom may be picking them up each time, but regular users using Firefox, Chrome, etc should not. We’re heavily optimized client size.
I think i did all you suggested, can you have a peak??
but there are still some suggestions like minimise redirects from shareholic `The following cacheable resources have a short freshness lifetime. Specify an expiration at least one week in the future for the following resources:http://dtym7iokkjlif.cloudfront.net/dough/1.0/oven.js

http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js`The hostnames of the following urls only serve one resource each. Avoid the extra DNS lookups by serving these resources from existing hostnames. http://api.ak.facebook.com/restserver.php?v=1.0&method=links.getStats&format=json&urls=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.catterycelize… http://static.ak.facebook.com/connect/xd_arbiter.php?version=8#channel=f251be4a18&origin=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.catteryceli… http://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?api_key=296246333743752&app_id=296246333743752&channel_url=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.a… https://s-static.ak.facebook.com/connect/xd_arbiter.php?version=8#channel=f251be4a18&origin=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.catteryc…
40 minutes later the performance drops
switching from wp super cache to W3TC gives some improvement, but the site remains lose speed with shareholic
@kletskater If you’re going to go by Pingdom speed alone (not ideal; as they don’t take into account caching) I strongly suggest you turn off “share counters”. That will reduce a number of requests.
`”share counters” was never on… so that is off..
You say Pingdom speed alone (not ideal; as they don’t take into account caching)… what kind of speedtest do you prever I use?Loses page speed significantly and there are several redirects which are a bit worrying. I removed it…looks good but too much of an overhead.
how can you remove my redirects?
Most, if not all, redirects are only hit once for each visitor every 45 days. You can disable those too by disabling “performance tracking”, but with that you’d be turning off the data that feeds Recommendations, etc. It’s a tradeoff that you can decide to make.
ps – getting a consistent pingdom score of 75-85/100 for kletskater’s page.
@kletskater Chrome’s developer console is quite handy –
https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/docs/consoleThe “Network” panel has all the details.
Re the loss of page speed…is it possible to address that?
