Support » Plugin: Contextual Related Posts » Several pages do not show related posts

  • The articles are more likely to have related posts, as planned in the settings. However, many of the menu pages do not have ANY related posts at all, even though Pages are checked in the settings. I just installed the plugin and maybe the settings are off. I would also like to show 10 related posts per post and page. I look forward to working with this plugin on our site. Thank you!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I see one related post in : https://sisterhoodagenda.com/counseling-and-advice/

Can you check the List tuning setting for “Post types to include” – Does this have pages?

The page that you mentioned only has one post when I want to show 8 related posts.

Post types to include have posts and pages checked. I could also check products, but I was hoping to have more posts and pages show up. I want 8 related posts to show up. Is this because of the tags?

If you’re not using the addon plugin then it shouldn’t be an issue. The main reason is likely that it can’t find the other posts as related. Can you try enabling/disabling find posts by content option in List tuning?

This still continues to be an issue, despite trying to enable/disable find posts, as described above. Any other suggestions?

We’ll need to do a bit of debugging. Are you in a position to install Query Monitor plugin to see what queries are generated and then run it in phpMyAdmin?

Sure, I can install the plugin. However, I am hesitant to add any more plugins to my site and do not know how to run it in phpMyAdmin. I would really like the plugin to do what it is supposed to do without having to do this. Any other suggestions?

There is potentially one option I can think of:

Install https://wordpress.org/plugins/crp-taxonomy/ which is the addon plugin to this plugin.

Then in the List tuning, disable Contextual matching and select Limit to current post categories and tags.

This won’t do the contextual but pull posts you’ve already deemed related.
