    Hi,

    I just started with WP-Travel and I’m facing a few issues.

    1. On the Trip entry page, I see the words “Archives: Trips” and the word “Description.” but I found no way to change the word “Archives” nor how to add the description. (Trips)

    2. On the trip Gallery Tab (Trip Single) the images are blurry. I did set the default WordPress thumbnail size to 600px by 600px before I uploaded the image. (I read in advance that the thumbnail sizes could cause blurry images). But somehow it is taking thumbnails of the size 150px by 150px.

    3. The Gallery images do not appear in one line like in your Demo nor do they float properly. They cover a huge space with massive space between some images

    4. On AMP mobile view it works pretty well except for the gallery button on the mobile featured image. Instead of redirecting to the gallery the button does noting at all. AMP – Version

    Thanks in advance for any help with those!

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @loano1,

    Thank you for using the WP Travel plugin.

    Please find the answer to your queries below:

    1. On the Trip entry page, I see the words “Archives: Trips” and the word “Description.” but I found no way to change the word “Archives” nor how to add the description. (Trips)

    Response: The feature to edit the “Archive” text in the archive page is not available, however, it can be done through a child theme.

    To know how you can create and activate the child theme, please refer to the below given link:

    https://wptravel.io/how-to-create-a-child-theme/

    After activating the child theme in your child theme functions.php file add below-given code:

    add_filter(‘get_the_archive_title’, function ($title) {
    $post_type = get_post_type_object( get_post_type() );
    return esc_html( $post_type->labels->singular_name );
    });

    Response: Please once try regenerating the thumbnail using the thumbnail regenerating plugin.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    3. The Gallery images do not appear in one line like in your Demo nor do they float properly. They cover a huge space with massive space between some images

    Response: For this, please add below given CSS by going to Additional CSS.

    .wp-travel-gallery ul li{
        clear: unset !important;
    }

    4. On AMP mobile view it works pretty well except for the gallery button on the mobile featured image. Instead of redirecting to the gallery the button does noting at all. AMP – Version

    Response: When we tested in our side, everything is working as you can see in the screen record below:

    https://imgur.com/a/zYJk5zJ

    The testing in the emulator will always not be exact so can you please mention how you exactly replicate the issue so that we can check further.

    Hope this helps.

    If you have any issues further, then please post them in our official support forum below:

    https://wptravel.io/support-forum/forum/wp-travel/

    Thank you and stay safe.

    Hello @wensolutionsupport

    Thanks for taking the time to investigate this.

    About 1:
    Unfortunately, I did not understand how creating a child theme and adding your given code will allow me to change the 2 texts. I added a screenshot of the 2 texts I would like to replace:

    https://prnt.sc/sb844n

    Could you please tell me more about how to place a custom text instead of the word “Description” and “Archive”. Thanks in advance.

    2. About the thumbnails, I used the plugin and recreated all thumbnails, but the result stays the same. The issue is, somehow the gallery images are displayed very big (760px by 760px on desktop), while they are using a thumbnail version that is only 150px by 150px: https://prnt.sc/sb8aup

    3. Thanks for your CSS Code. It fixed the empty space between the images. ✓

    4. Gallery button not redirecting to the Gallery, please watch this video I recorded:

    https://www.loom.com/share/34cc2216ea5446baa2a25602a05a4e42

    I think it reloads the site instead. There is no gallery visible on the ?amp-version: https://prnt.sc/sb8dh2, if this is the way it’s supposed to be, it should redirect to the non-amp Gallery.

    Thanks for the info with the forum. I will post new problems there in the future. Thanks in advance for everything and stay safe, too!

    Hello @loano1,

    Please find your answer below in points:

    Query #1:

    Response: As we have mentioned above, there is no option in the plugin to edit the name of the taxanomy so the only way it could be done is through the child theme.

    So you need to add below given code in your child theme functions.php and edit the name as per your requirement.

    add_filter('get_the_archive_title', function ($title) {

    	$post_type = get_post_type_object( get_post_type() );
    	if ( $post_type->name == 'itineraries' && ! is_tax()  ) {
    		return esc_html( 'Your Text : ' . $post_type->labels->singular_name );
    	}
    	return $title;
    });

    Here Change “Your Text”, to your desired text. As for the “Description”, it can be hidden. Editing will require another block of code customization so if you want to delete it please add below-given CSS in your Additional CSS section.

    .taxonomy-description p {
        display: none;
    }

    Query #2:

    Response: When we inspected your site URL, we found that the original size of the image that you have added is very small.

    Screenshot:
    https://prnt.sc/sbocs3

    So, upload the image of a bigger size so that the blurry image will get fixed.

    Query #4:

    Response: When we tested the issue on our side, it is working fine. So please once check your site in the logout mode. Also, since the issue is quite not related to the plugin so please once inform to the theme author about the issue.

    If the issue still persists then kindly let us know.

    Thank you.

    Hello @wensolutionsupport Thank you again!

    1. Your code works perfectly. Just for others who read this, you do not have to use a child theme, there are a lot of plugins out there that will add this to your theme functions.php and keep it save there on updates.

    2. This is exactly what I mean. The plugin takes the smallest thumbnail size to display and I do not know why. The original images are 1200x880px (https://live-like-a-german.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/16-Days-In-And-Around-Cologne-Trip.jpg).

    There is no need to take the smallest thumbnail, this one: https://live-like-a-german.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/16-Days-In-And-Around-Cologne-Trip-150×150.jpg

    Please tell me, how can I get the plugin to use a bigger thumbnail size? This one: https://live-like-a-german.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/16-Days-In-And-Around-Cologne-Trip-500×500.jpg

    4. Unfortunately this also exists when not logged in. Could you please send me a link to your AMP demo?

    Hello @loano1,

    Glad that the code worked.

    As for the query related to the thumbnail, the plugin has used the thumbnail image so you have to update the thumbnail size by going to Setting > Media as shown in the screenshot below:

    https://prnt.sc/scf4om

    So please once try this and regenerate the thumbnail. This should work.

    As for AMP query, we don’t have AMP demo as we don’t currently support it. AMP requires different coding syntax and have limited support to css and js which makes it hard to implement on our theme and plugins. Currently, we only have normal web standard demo. I.e wptravel.io/demo.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.
