Hi,

do I indeed need one separate db for every version of the website? I’m asking, because I only have one included in my hosting package and may get a second – for an extra fee…
No chance with a different table prefix, or any other way?

Sorry but it’s not currently possible to have multiple site versions in one DB – you’ll need one DB for each site version. In theory it could be done, but the table prefix is used in certain DB fields and could break any time WP changes its DB schema, so it’s not something I have any plans to add.
