Several Changes to Clean Home Theme

    Hi, I always try to avoid bugging people on these forums, but I have some unresolved issues I can’t solve via google searches…

    I’m building a new website: http://www.brandongaudin.com/newsite

    I’m using the Clean Home theme by MidMo Design: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/clean-home

    I would greatly appreciate assistance with several changes I’m trying to make:

    1 – Nav Bar Active Link – Currently, when you hover over the links in the nav bar, they highlight and change colors. How do I make it stay this way for whatever page is active??

    2 – Firefox working, IE not – Right now, in Firefox everything on the site appears correctly…but in IE, only the main (blog) page appears. When you click on the other pages, the header is still there but no sidebar or content. Why?

    3 – Space before/after images – When I post an image on a page, there is a ton of space automatically inserted above the photo, how do I change this? The page in particular where I notice this is: brandongaudin.com/newsite/video

    4 – Page Titles – Each page title has very small font and is very close to the grey line at the bottom of the header. How do I increase the font size and move the page title further down?

    5 – Links – All links inside a post are automatically black, where do I change the color?

    6 – Space above Header – There’s too much white space above my header on the top of the page…how do I remove some of it?

    I fixed 10 of the 14. I’m not sure how to fix the other 4 as I don’t understand the problem.

    This stuff is all new to me. I’m teaching myself via guess and check and google searches….a very backwards way of doing things.

    Can you or someone else assist on explaining answers to my original questions?

    Also, is there a way to hire someone with great knowledge of wordpress/coding to help me get this going?

    I’m in a major time crunch.

    In the meantime, would you mind answering some of my questions (maybe just the simpler ones as I’m sure you have other things to do).

    I need to get this site workable by tomorrow…and then I’ll try to hire someone to fix the rest.

    I encountered a similar problem. No text was appearing for my pages in Safari or IE (though the header and sidebar where still there). To fix the issue:

    1. I downloaded the latest version of Clean Home (1.2.1), which can be found here: http://midmodesign.com/news/general/our-special-wordpress-theme/

    2. I then opened up the page.php file and copied the code.

    3. Following this, within WordPress, I navigated to the area where you can edit your theme’s code, and selected the Page Template: Appearance > Editor > Page Template (page.php)

    4. I then pasted the page.php code from the new version of Clean Home into the page.php file online, replacing the old code.

    5. Finally, I clicked the “Update File” button.

    I don’t know why, but this worked like a charm.
