Setup not working

    I am doing a new install of WordPress on Red Hat ES 3.0 (Linux 2.4.21-20.EL) which includes Apache 2.046 with PHP Version 4.3.2. I have done working installations in the past. I followed the 5 minute install but when I go to the /wp-admin/install.php page I get a blank page. I executed the page from the command line but all I get is the headers
    Content-type: text/html
    X-Powered-By: PHP/4.3.2
    I have no idea what is wrong here.
