• Hello hello

I was wondering if you’d consider adding a filter to the capability required to access the Settings Page? (especially relevant in a multisite environment)

By default, it looks like you’re using ‘activate_plugins’ to control access to Settings->SSL; I’d love to filter this to restrict subsite settings to only Network Administrators in our environment.

(As an aside, I think ‘manage_options’ might be a more appropriate default than ‘activate_plugins’.)

    Cheers and thanks!

One benefit of this would be better integration between the Settings Menu and the “plusone” that Really Simple SSL can put on the parent-level “Settings” screen. I’m currently manually removing the “Settings->SSL” menu from Site Administrators, but this can result in Settings have a (1) next to it, with no “SSL” menu available beneath it and no way for Site Administrators to know where the (1) is coming from (or clear it).

    Thanks again!

It has been added to the roadmap, I can’t say in which release it will be included yet.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

    Hi @madtownlems,

We have a release ready, with the ‘manage_security’ capability:
    https://github.com/really-Simple-Plugins/really-simple-ssl/

On updating to this version, each administrator will get the ‘manage_security’ capability. You can then configure this to your liking with a role manager plugin.

Let me know if this works for you!

    Hello again Rogier,

This sounds like a great solution. Thank you so much for implementing it, as well as the follow-up.

    Cheers
