    First time setting up WordPress.

    Getting error when setting up the database connection the first time. I have modified the wp-config.php file with database information.

    using database name as: WordPress
    username: root also tried admin
    password:
    host:localhost

    Error establishing a database connection
    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure you have typed the correct hostname?
    Are you sure the database server is running?
    If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

    That means that you don’t have the right information in the file. Either your username or password (or both) ar wrong.

    Did you record the details of the database (name and user with correct permissions assigned) when you created it? If so you need to use those. If not, you’ll probably need to go back and do that all again so you know what they are.

    I also had a problem installing WordPress in the beginning, but I was able to solve it with a lot of practice and accuracy
    Good luck

    just choose the right pass and user
