    Hi everyone,

I am setting up a new WordPress install on a new server with a different host provider.

My old site and domain are still up and running because im waiting for my domain guy to change over the name servers.

What i am wondering is how (assuming its possible) do i go about setting my new WordPress install ready for the name servers to be changed and the propagation to finish.

Hope that makes sense. I guess in summary im looking to know (if its possible) how to setup a wordpress install at xxx.xx.xx.xx and then once the nameservers are changed & propagation is done for the site to use that domain.

    Any help would be fantastic.

  • Your new hosts should have provided you with a temporary url. You can use that until your DN propagates fully.

that worked fine for the cpanel access and installing WordPress but if i navigate to the temp url im still seeing the original placeholder?

Is there anyway to access the wordpress admin section or am i restricted to cpanel and ftp access at this stage?

Is there an index.html file in your domain root? If so, remove or rename it.
