 * This is for people looking for help after trying to follow Charitable’s instructions
for setting up a webhook for Square. It may help to know there have been some
changes in the Square environment and their published instructions have become
   outdated. (located at wpcharitable.com/documentation/setting-up-square-webhooks)
 * Maybe the folks at Charitable can also take this as a cue to update their documentation
where it contains instructions for Setting Up Square Webhooks.
 * Here is my suggested change: **Where it says (in Step 3): **
   —Go to your Square
dashboard, and open the Webhooks >> Subscriptions tab.—
 * **Change it to say:**
—Go to your _Square Developer Console_ (developer.squareup.
com, not your Square account dashboard), and click on the big “+” sign near the
bottom of the page to begin creating a new “application”.
 * In the first prompt, give your application a name such as “charitable-listener”,
then click Next. Skip the remaining prompts to complete the new application.
 * Next, once inside the workspace for your new app, note that you can have it in“
sandbox” mode or “production” mode. If you have Charitable Test Mode turned on,
use the Sandbox mode in your Square app. If you have Test Mode turned off, use
Production mode in your app. Once your Square app is in the desired mode, navigate
   to Webhooks >> Subscriptions.

 * Hopefully, this will save a few people some time while figuring out how to set
   this up.

 * [@2dawgs](https://wordpress.org/support/users/2dawgs/) thanks for reaching out.
Our team is already updating some of the content for Square specficially and
I’ve shared this as well – so thanks for sharing this. I’m going to close this
and happy to answer further questions in the future. Have a good weekend!
