# Setting up sql database

 * I’m having some issues getting WP to connect with the MySQL database on my server.
   As far as I know, the database/user name is right and the password is dead on.
   It won’t connect up. Can anyone give me some hints?

 * There are a couple different errors wordpress will give you when it can’t connect
   to the database. Paste the error here.

 * Error establishing a database connection
 * This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.
   php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This
   could mean your host’s database server is down.
 *  * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    * Are you sure that
   you have typed the correct hostname? * Are you sure that the database server 
   is running?
 * If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host.
   If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

 * I have checked the server and it is running. However, I’m not sure about the 
   host name. I assume it would be localhost. My hosting company is godaddy
 * I have set up wordpress multiple times before, but I have never had this many
   issues with it.

 * Godaddy doesn’t use localhost for the DB host value. You’ll have to find it though
   your hosting control panel. Here is more info about it.
