 * Under my reading settings, I have set my Front page as a static page.
 * I have a question regarding the “Posts Page” now – when I designate a posts page(
I’m guessing I have to create one before I set this option) – is there anything
special I need to put on the page to designate how the posts will show up on
   that page?

 * No – the designated page will use the index.php template file in your them for
   the posts display.
 * And, yes, you do need to create the page before you designate it as your Posts
   page.
