Even if I change the currency in the settings to EUR, Paypal handles it as USD. What could be the problem?

I am having the same issue but with CAD. Did you get this resolved?

I changed to another plugin in the meantime, but when I re-checked today, it seemed to work.

I’m not seeing this in testing.

I know it is a silly question but are you certain you have saved the settings?

I have a currency converter that operates according to IP address. My website default currency is USD. I am however in Canada and even when the currency at checkout is CAD, PayPal is only detecting the USD currency. I have in the past used a currency converter with OSCommerce and OpenCart, and have never experienced this issue. PayPal should be able to read and accept the checkout currency and apply it for payment.

Can you explain more? What is the currency converter? How does that works? What is it converting?

When you say your website default currency is USD what exactly do you mean – do you mean the settings in the Quick PayPal Payments settings is USD?

I have a feeling you have a set up that has an expectation beyond the capability of the plugin, as the plugin has a single currency and sends that in the message to PayPal – so I’m unsure how any currency switch could take place.

Perhaps some screen shots of your settings and a clearer explanation of how you think this actually works would help.

The Currency converter is by WoobeWoo and it converts the currency automatically by IP address. The main currency here is USD and the secondary currency is CAD. Since I am in Canada, at checkout my currency is in CAD. When I choose PayPal as my gateway payment, the currency automatically switches to USD rather than remaining in CAD. My PayPal account offers both currencies so the issue is not with my PayPal account but with the conversation between the PayPal and my website. I was hoping that QPP would resolve this, but it did not. I do not see any any options for attaching screenshots on this forum.

Screenshots – just load up to any image sharing and add a link.

But from your description QPP will not solve your issue.

QPP simply uses tells PayPal the currency set in settings.

WoobeWoo is a WooCommerce plugin and has no chance of working with QPP.

Indeed if you are using WooCommerce – I’m not sure why you need QPP?

From the description, I thought it might help.
But thanks, I have already removed it.

No problem and thank you for trying out the plugin and your observations.

It would be a useful capability and I have logged it for future consideration.
