I setup WordPress on our server, but emails going out have the envelope sender as <apache user id>@<hostname> rather than the site admin email address set in WordPress.
For the moment, I’ve edited class-phpmailer.php, and set :
var $Sender = 'admin@mydomain';
But this isn’t really a good way of doing it, any updates will probably overwrite this file and mail will be broken again until it’s fixed.
Am I missing a way to have this set through the GUI ? Or is it something that the developers could do with addressing ?
My searches didn’t find any other acceptable solution, just other people with the same problem.
