Setting: Optimize for Products Search

    Hi,

    What does setting “Optimize for Products Search” do?

    I have a WooCommerce site with several custom fields and the default WooCommerce product search widget works fine without this setting active. Values from the custom fields are also being found.

    Hi Guido,

    “Optimize for Products Search” makes it very easy to configure WC search and you can use all feature of WPES.

    When it is not turned on it is just like searching in normal product post type and you will see WC search result template only when using WC search widget.

    When it is turned on
    – Custom fields are limited to only WC products
    – Only product taxonomy are listed
    – Some extra hidden custom fields are visible by default e.g. _sku
    – You can use WPES search widget, function, shortcode to add search form with WC search result template.
