• When I set the front page of my blog to the latest posts, it empties the blog page (cetmohamedmoore.com/blog).
For now I’ve taken the blog page out of the menu, while utilizing categories in the second menu. The blog page works normally when I use a different static front page. Is using the latest posts and a blog page considered redundant and not allowed?

For now, I suppose I’ll create a link in the menu to the latest posts and title it, “Home” or “Blog”. Is that the normal way to do it? I’ve been using self-hosted WordPress for a couple years, but never run into this, so am unsure.

  • Hi,

I thought it is considered as normal.

Your blog page turns into a regular page content because there’s no blog template assigned (Page Attributes > Template). The Fashionistas theme doesn’t have a blog page template at the moment. Thus, the blog page is only can be set through the Settings > Reading > Front page displays > A static page (select below) > Posts page.

It’s allowed. But we should need to create a new blog page template file in the child theme. If you have enough WordPress coding knowledge, it isn’t difficult to achieve.
