Support » Plugin: Post Rotation » Setting acurate rotation time/hour

  • Resolved jfk65

I just found your plugin and included it on my site. It is supposed to rotate posts in my musical calendar category. My oldest post is from October 1st 2014 and the latest from today that is September 30th. I started the rotation this afternoon so tomorrow my oldest post would appear exactly on October 1st.

I have a problem though – I would like the change occur aproximately after midnight. It is twenty minutes past midnight and plugin says the next post will appear in 14 hours that is at 14:20. How to set it correctly so new posts appear at the beginning of the day?

    So no one’s answering….

I tried to set the right time of post alteration: some minutes after midnight I set the rotation to 24 hour intervals. Right after setting the interval the plugin showed that the next post will be changed in 23 hours and 50 minutes. (keep in mind that I enabled just one special category).

Now it is 16:38 and the plugin shows that the next post will rotate in approximately 22 hours, which means that instead of some minutes past midnight it will change around 14:00 tomorrow. That means 38 hour rotation!

I have also noticed that if I set two hour interval, the plugin chooses articles outside the category of my choice.

This question has been answered directly through the contact form on my website.

It can help others, so the conclusion is:

Originally, the idea is to avoid so long time without new posts, but (at least for now) if a new post is added (of any category), the rotation (the oldest post from the selected category) will be delayed.

Thank you Jacek and please excuse the delay!

So I am waiting until you figure it out how to avoid delays with the new posts.
