Support » Plugin: WordPress MU Domain Mapping » Setting a domain on other hosting

  • Hi there. My question is simple.

My site say was hosted on some other hosting providers. I created a (sub)site in my network say and now want to use that subsite redirect to domain I read this on the documentation of plugin

“When mapping a domain, (like ‘’) your users must create an A record in their DNS pointing at that IP address”.

Do I need to update the nameservers on my old hosting? Or I have to add a CNAME on that?

You don’t need the subsite. You can do the redirect in your DNS for

If your DNS provider doesn’t offer/allow redirects you can do the redirect in your .htaccess file.
