    Hello.
Great plugin, it is working flawlessly.
I need to ask this: we are building a new website (more geo-targeting specific) of the same company with a new domain. We would like to use the same mail though, for our communication. Do I need to set up again post smtp for the new domain or I must configure a new mail for this new WP install?
    Thank you for your time.
    Fil.

Assuming the new site will have it’s own WordPress install, then yup, you’re correct in that you can install Post SMTP again on the new site.

You can use the same email account on as many sites as you like.

One thing you should consider though is so long as you are sending mail as the account you’ve set up, it will be fine. If you are sending email as if it is coming from the domain the website is being hosted at, then you’ll need to make sure you set up SPF, PTR & DKIM records correctly.

In basic terms, let’s say you have your-domain-1.tld and your-domain-2.tld but you have an email account of my-email-1.tld

If both sites are sending email using From: something@my-email-1.tld, then all is fine. (i.e. from either site, you’ll get emails from something@my-email-1.tld)

But if you are sending emails using my-email-1.tld but changing the From: / ReplyTo: fields to sales@your-domain-1.tld and/or enquiries@your-domain-2.tld, then you’ll need to add entries to your SPF records to authorise my-email-1.tld to be able send emails on behalf of domain-1.tld & your-domain-2.tld

    Hope that makes sense.

Thank you very much for providing such a detailed answer!
For both accounts I will be using the initial gmail address that I have setup on website1. That was our decision from the start because we wanted the things to be, as simple as it can be. Post smtp does its job great, with great reliability. So, this is the setup that we will try on site2 (using the same gmail account).’
    Thank you for your support!
    Best regards,

    Dear @shinerweb
If I may, I need to ask you a couple of things just to clarify a few things regarding post smtp. I searched through the Internet a lot but to be honest, I couldn’t find an answer…
It’s only two questions but I think they are very important:
    a) At our website we have inquiry forms that clients fill up. If post smtp fails to deliver the sender’s info on our side, will his contact info be stored in post smtp’s error log? To tell you the truth the plugin makes a remarkable job.100,000 installs don’t lie! Neither we had any problems on our side. It’s just that is so crucial for our business -that’s why I wanna know more specs of it.
And b) I searched everywhere for a good tutorial about setting the fallback feature on the plugin. I have spent hours…No luck yet! Setting the main account is a piece of cake with Post Smtp. What about the fallback feature? Can you suggest a good online tutorial or at least a couple of advises of how to set it up properly?
Thank you for your patience. I would really love to hear your opinion!
    Best regards,
    Fil

    Hi

Sorry for the delay, it’s busy times for me.

    1. Post SMTP will log success and failed emails. It will also notify you when something will fail.
    2. I didn’t include the fallback on the wizard to keep it simple.
Do define fallback just press “All settings” from the main screen and you will see a fallback tab – the fallback is for SMTP only.
