Support » Plugin: Elementor Page Builder » Set Site Title as link to Home

I just stumbled on 2 sites that did not have “Home” in their menu. I found out that clicking the site title, that would take you back to the home page.
Question: I’ve never seen this before, is this common or something new?

I just realized a couple of my own sites have this feature. Is this just standard is WordPress or Elementor?

    Hi Les,

Actually, a page called “home” or “Homepage” is not mandatory in a site.
This has nothing to do with Elementor.

In WordPress setttings you need to set some page as a homepage, meaning that page will be shown first when someone enters the site.

You can call that page whatever you like, as long as your visitors know where they are and where they can find what they are looking for.

In WordPress, clicking the site title will by default lead to the page you have set to be the homepage.

By altering the header.php one could change that behaviour, but I for one, would not see the benefit of that to be honest..

I understand what you mean and I probably should have used the newer term, Landing Page.
I just did not know clicking on the logo would take you there.
The page I was originally talking about had a landing page but then on the menu, there was no way to get back to it, other than tapping the logo .

    🙂

    Hi Les,

Not sure what you are referring to, but a landing page is usually “distract free” on purpose. It is ment to convert and not lead to other menu items.

In that case it might be better not to have that link in the logo.
However, I wonder how many are even aware of that fact.

OK, now that I have totally confused the issue, to start over.
When I referred to the Home page, I meant the page someone usually goes to when you enter the minimal domain name without designating a page, i.e. les.com. There is usually an item in the menu so people can come back to this page once they leave. I found a site where there was no menu item that would take you back to that page. Typically identified as “Home”. That’s when I found if you clicked the Logo, you were taken back to the original page. I.E. Les.com. I had never seen this before. Now that I have looked around, I see many Logo’s do take you back home.
    🙂

I think that was a typically landingpage then, not ment to back to the actual site. 😊
