Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » Set one category and your topic in noindex

    I install thsi plugin

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress-post-topics/

That creates me a copy with the same title and summary of the posts in the forum topics so the comments become posts in the forum.
Can having the same post title penalize SEO?
If yes, I wanted to disable the indexing of the forum category that contain mice and also all the topics inside.
If in advanced settings of the category I set noindex on yaost also all the topics will be in noindex?

    Hi @ricsca2,

We’re not familiar with the plugin you mentioned, but it’s possible for there to be a problem if the content on the pages is very similar, not just the title. You can check out our article on duplicate content to see if your pages might have that problem.

Is the “forum” a category or are you referring to a “forum category” taxonomy? In either case the posts assigned to the categories would not be affected, so they would remain “index, follow”.

If you set a particular “forum” category to “noindex” when you edit the category’s settings, this would only affect that forum category archive page. If you mean that there’s a “forum category” custom taxonomy, the “noindex” setting under SEO > Search Appearance would only affect the term archive pages.

    Hope this helps.
