[Resolved] Set non uploaded image to featured/thumbnail-image

  • This plugin is almost exactly what I need, however I need an adjustment.

    Instead of using the upload feature for the plugin I would want a image that is displayed on my site to be set as the featured image.

    I’ll explain. My users actually creates an image actively on the site. For example, this image will allways be called “image1”.
    And when they use the form, I want the plugin to take “image1” and set it as the featured image.

    Is this possible? And if so then how?

    Thanks in advance
    Henrik

    That should be doable via your theme template, simply by displaying a default featured image in the desired location in the WP Loop:

    <img src="http://example.com/path/to/image1.jpg" alt="<?php the_title(); ?>" />
    <?php } ?>

    Then in the USP plugin, disable the image upload field. Posts will be displayed along with image1 (or whatever), and there is even a conditional tag, usp_is_public_submission(), that can be used to distinguish between regular and submitted posts.
