Support » Plugin: WordPress MU Domain Mapping » Set domain within a folder

  • Hi,

    I have a user account in a wordpress mu instance which is already in a subdmain itself, like blogs.domain.com. In doing so, my personal blog is served at blogs.domain.com/myblog.

    I would like to redirect a subdomain I have to my personal blog:
    blog.myname.com -> blogs.domain.com/myblog

    Since CNAME doesn’t accept anything after “/”, is there a way I could do it?

    Thanks in advance!
    Felipe.

    A CNAME is a domain pointer not a URL pointer. Does your DNS provider allow you to redirect the domain (you may need to search their help/support docs)?

    So by creating a CNAME entry pointing from blog.myname.com -> blogs.domain.com should be enough?

    You cannot use a CNAME to do blog.myname.com -> blogs.domain.com/myblog regardless of what you were using for your web site software.

    You can do the following with a CNAME

    blog.myname.com -> blogs.domain.com

    You need a redirect which can be done at either the DNS level or in your .htaccess.
