 * Hi,
 * I understand that under the “Content Permissions” metabox all roles are un-checked
   by default to allow access to ‘everyone’.
 * Is there a way to change it so that it defaults to ‘Subscribers’ (or any other
   role)?
 * I am essentially looking to make all my posts private to subscribers-only but
   keep the website available to everyone. Having the post creators always check
   content permissions is asking for trouble, someone is bound to miss it.

 * You can set to have the posts automatically blocked in the Members setting page.
   Then use the tick box or content permissions in the new post to change permissions
   to what you do want to allow the public to see. That way the error would be what’s
   accidentally blocked rather than accidentally set to view. Which then could be
   easily corrected and not have already revealed what you do not wish to be public.

 * Hi,
 * I’ve the same problem. I’ve tried to do what summer313 says in the previous post
   but I was not able to find that option. Did the settings page change, recently?

 * If you require assistance then, as per the [Forum Welcome](http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post),
   please post your own topic instead of tagging onto someone else’s topic.
 * I am now closing this 7 month old topic as it references an older version of
   WordPress.
