Set compression?

The plugin produces beautiful galleries quite quickly. However, I’m finding that it degrades my images significantly. I suspect this is due to compression which I’m doing already through a separate dedicated image plugin. Is there any means to set or disable the compression used by SimpLy Gallery Block & Lightbox? Thanks in advance for any tips.
