# Set category when uploading

 * Is it possible to set the category of an image when uploading? In other words,
   if I am adding am image to the Media Manager (or a plugin that uses the Media
   Manager), can I select the desired category for that image when adding?

 * It’s not possible to do it while uploading. But you can bulk select images after
   upload (select ‘no category’ in the media library) and then assign the desired
   category.

 * Is it the correct behavior that the plugin shares the same categories as the 
   posts? I was hoping to have a category list for just the media library.

 * By default it uses the same categories as WordPress uses for post and pages. 
   In the [faq](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-media-library-categories/faq/) 
   it is explained how you can change this.
