Yoast SEO by default output the category/subcategory permalink as a canonical URL. Did you confirm it?
Or, are you trying to set the custom canonical URL for each of your categories/sub-categories?
Hi, im not using subcategory. i mean category archive pages.
site.com/category/page/2 … page/5
For those pages i want make canonical URL : site.com/category/
https://prnt.sc/I-dTOXHsJC-2 from here.
But i cant doing it manuel because i have so much categories. How can I do this in one time?
@dieforyou
Canonical of the paginated pages should point to the same URL. Google is very clear now: each page within a paginated series should canonicalize to itself, so /page/2/ has a canonical pointing to /page/2/.
From the SEO perspective, it is expected as you can read on this article:
Pagination & SEO: best practices
If you would want to modify canonicals, please refer to our developer doc:

Thank you @suascat_wp
But https://developer.yoast.com/features/seo-tags/canonical-urls/api/ there is no my answer. This page help only remove all canonical url’s or remove canonical from one page from id. Whatever i will listen you and i will not change canonical URL’s.
