• Hi, I’m hoping someone has come across this one before…

My problem is how to define a ‘primary’ category for a WooCommerce product that has more than one category assigned to it. At present it will show a single category based on its alphabetical position.

I’m currently working on an art gallery site and my categories are the artist’s names. However, some of the artworks also are assigned to the ‘Art for Resale’ and/or ‘Print Gallery’ categories too. Assigning either of the above categories to the artist ‘Yoshikazu Tanaka’ will cause these categories to be displayed in preference to his name.

Does anyone know of an elegant way to either force the artist’s name to be the primary category or relegate a category’s priority order so I can demote my ‘Art for Resale and/or ‘Print Gallery’ categories below that of the artists?
