# Servertransfer problems

 * Hi,
 * i transfered a Multisite from one Server to an other. I did do the Multisite 
   setup, the did something wired. I am confusend!
    They rooted the server somehow
   to a buddypressblog at [http://diealternative.org/index/](http://diealternative.org/index/)
   They set it as root…
 * there is a buddypress on the root as well but this displays just a white page
 * All the links in for the template url is with /index/ but /index/ is just the
   buddypressslug. So the are not found.
 * I tryed to see the kind of ulr settings in network-> sites ( wp-admin/network/
   sites.php)
    but this page is just white. And [http://diealternative.org/index/wp-admin](http://diealternative.org/index/wp-admin)
   is not working.
 * Please help, i really don’t get the problem and when i can’t reach this pages
   i am totaly handicaped.

 * I have development server [http://auge.enabled.io/](http://auge.enabled.io/) 
   there was everything fine. I transerferd it there with just search and replace
   the sql dump.

 * You _cannot_ just search/replace the SQL dump, as it will break data serialization
   and cause the problems you’re seeing.
 * Also you shouldn’t try to put it in a folder AND move it at teh same time. That
   way lies madness.
