 * Hi,
 * My hosting company is upgrading there servers. With these new servers people 
   won’t have to decide if they want asp or php based hosting. Does anyone know 
   if this will affect my wordpress software? Also, will I be able to write php 
   and asp code on the same site and have it actually work?

 * As long as php is still available and running on the server then the change over
   should not affect your blog.
 * Your second question is more for your service provider – can you run linux and
   windows at the same time? I dont think so.
 * Are you allowed multiple OS setup in the same hosting account? Only your service
   provider can answer that.

 * Thanks for the reply. My HP said I can run both php and asp code on my site when
   my site gets upgraded to the new servers …. Do you know how I would connect a
   access database to a WP site?

 * No problem.
 * WP requires MySql as the database backbone and the connection still remains the
   same as per norm, via wp-config.php in the core install files.
 * I take it you already have a wordpress running at the moment and the upgrade 
   will still retain both PHP as wells a MySQL database. Is your service provider
   telling you that they are changing to MS SQL?
 * If MySql is being retained then you dont have to do anything, the WP blog should
   continue functioning as it should.
